The Legacy
Doris Jean Roberson
Second only to her faith was her strong belief in the value of education. This led her to pursue a career in teaching. She obtained a B.A. in Education from Northwestern in 1974 and began working for Chicago Public Schools. She remained there for two years. Realizing the needs of her growing family, she left education and began working at Clark Oil Refinery as a payroll clerk for the next 35 years. Eventually, she returned to her first love of teaching where she was able to inspire children throughout Harvey Public School District #152.
Our Story
Jeans4Kids, Inc. was started to honor our mother Doris Jean Roberson. She was a school teacher and she loved teaching and loved her students even more! She went above and beyond for them. In 2010 our mother passed away. My siblings and I wanted to keep my her legacy and love alive for her students! So we began donating school uniforms to students at the school where she taught. We saw a greater need and formed Jeans4Kids,Inc. to be able to provide them with educational and physical resources on a larger scale!
